Spotlight Theater – MULTI-GENERATIONAL CAST
Because this production is part of The Music School’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, we are expanding our Spotlight Theater into a multi-generational cast for this year only. An epic show for an epic year!
- Interested performers may register for an audition appointment at no cost. Auditions are required to qualify, and performers who are cast in the show will receive a link to complete their registration.
- Students in grades 4-5 at the time of auditions are eligible for limited roles. Students must be able to sustain rehearsals and performances that will last until 10:00 PM. On the audition form, select TOP PRIORITY committing to all planned rehearsals, and a reduced rehearsal schedule will be provided after casting.
- Students in grade 6 through graduating high school classes 2027, 2026, 2025 are eligible for lead roles and ensemble. Because the preparation time is so condensed, we are depending on all participants in attendance at all rehearsals. Any conflicts need to be discussed with the directors before casting and will affect your role. Conflicts pertaining to your last days of middle or high school will be accommodated. On the audition form, students must select TOP PRIORITY to commit to all planned rehearsals in order to be considered for casting.
- Performers who are 20+ years of age must have a prior connection to The Music School in order to be considered for casting, and are eligible for lead roles and ensemble. On the audition form, adults may select TOP PRIORITY committing to all planned rehearsals, or MINIMAL PARTICIPATION in which they may commit to a planned schedule conducive to work and school commitments, which may result in a reduced part. All performers should plan on attending morning rehearsals June 7-18. Additional evening rehearsals may be scheduled for adult-only scenes, but the full cast must be in attendance at the morning rehearsals.
- Attendance at all dress rehearsals and performances are required, no exceptions.
- Auditions will take place by appointment on January 5-6, 2027, in which performers will sing their chosen musical excerpt from the show, unaccompanied and up to 2 minutes long, and perform an excerpt from the script, which will be provided to you once your audition appointment is scheduled. This show requires performers that are strong singers and actors, and the dance requirements for casting are minimal to none.
- Video auditions may be accepted for performers in lieu of an audition appointment for performers who are not in or near Sunnyvale at the time of auditions. All video auditions must be submitted by January 7, 2027. Late submissions will not be considered for casting.
