Music Theory – grade 8 – adults
Beginning and intermediate students will learn music fundamentals including note-reading, rhythmic values and meter, key signatures, chord construction, and develop basic ear-training and sight-singing skills. Materials fees are billed separately.
Tuesday 6:30 – 7:30 PM TEACHER: Nick Patton – Group classes need a minimum of 4 students to open.
SESSION A meets September 9 – October 28, 2025 (8 weeks)
Session A of the Music Theory course is designed for beginning students.
SESSION B meets January 6 – February 25, 2026 (8 weeks)
Session B of Music Theory is for Intermediate level students. You should already know the basics of how to read music on the staff, including pitches, rhythms, and time signatures.
SESSION C meets March 3 – April 28, 2026 (8 weeks with a spring break)
Session C of Music Theory is designed to be a supplemental preparation course for the AP Music Theory exams. Students will be specifically prepared for the knowledge and skills required to take the AP Exam. Note: Session C requires prior extensive music experience before enrollment. Taking session A and B in the same calendar year may not be sufficient.
TUITION: $200 per 8-week session
2025 – 2026 FAMILY REGISTRATION FEE: $40
The Bobbi Rupp Memorial Senior Scholarship is granted to all students age 65+, no application required.
